History of Amazon
Amazon was founded by Jeff Bezos in July 1994, and he chose Seattle because of the technical talent available, as Microsoft is based there. Mackenzie Scott was a key figure in the founding of Amazon, driving across the country with Jeff to get the company off the ground.
Amazon went public in May 1997. In 1998, it began selling music and videos, and in 1999, it expanded internationally by acquiring online book sellers in the United Kingdom and Germany. Amazon began selling video games, consumer electronics, home improvement items, software, games, and toys the following year.
Amazon launched Amazon Web Services (AWS) in 2002, which provided marketers and developers with data on website popularity, Internet traffic patterns, and other statistics. Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), which rents computer processing power, and Simple Storage Service (S3), which rents data storage via the Internet, were added to Amazon's AWS portfolio in 2006. In the same year, Amazon launched Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), a service that managed the inventory of individuals and small businesses selling their wares on the company's website.
Amazon bought Kiva Systems in 2012 to automate its inventory-management business, and then bought Whole Foods Market five years later in 2017. Amazon announced on February 2, 2021 that Jeff Bezos would step down as CEO and transition to Executive Chair of the Board of Directors in Q3 of 2021. Andy Jassy, the current CEO of Amazon Web Services, will succeed Bezos as the company's CEO.

Amazon Reviews Policy
Amazon allows users to leave product reviews on the product's web page. The product must be rated on a scale of one to five stars by reviewers. Amazon has a badging option for reviewers that indicates the reviewer's real name (based on confirmation of a credit card account) or that the reviewer is one of the most popular reviewers.
Amazon removed the ability for sellers and customers to comment on product reviews as of December 16, 2020, and purged their websites of all previously posted product review comments.
The only other review response options are to indicate whether the reader found the review helpful or to report it as a violation of Amazon policies (abuse). If a review receives enough "helpful" hits, it will appear on the product's front page. According to reports, Amazon was the largest single source of Internet consumer reviews in 2010.
Keywords Search/Search Content
Customers can search for keywords in the full text of many books in the catalogue using the "Search Inside the Book" feature.
Amazon Seller Central
Sale-related fees, seller account fees, shipping costs, and Amazon FBA fees are the four main Amazon seller fees. Account fees range from $0 to $39.99 per month, and sale-related fees range from 6% to 45 percent of the product's selling price, with the average seller paying 15%. You'll also have to fulfil and ship your order, which will cost a lot of money depending on what you're selling.
Moreover, when selling products on Amazon, there are three types of Amazon seller fees to consider: referral fees, minimum referral fees, and closing fees.
Third Party Sellers/Affiliate Marketing/Drop Shipping
Many of Amazon's sales come from third-party sellers who sell products on the site. If a customer is referred to Amazon through a link on their website (Affiliate Marketing or Drop shipping), Associates are paid a commission if the referral results in a sale. Amazon's affiliate programs have "over 900,000 members" worldwide. The Amazon Affiliate Program was used by 1.2 percent of all websites in the middle of 2014, making it the second most popular advertising network after Google Ads. Websites and non-profits frequently use it to provide a way for supporters to earn a commission.
Associates or Affiliate Marketers can use the Amazon Web Services (AWS) XML service to access the Amazon catalogue directly on their websites. A new affiliate product called aStoreallows Associates to embed or link to a subset of Amazon products on another website.
How to Rank Your Product on Amazon/Amazon Sales Rank
The Amazon sales rank (ASR) is a metric that shows how popular a product is across all Amazon locations. It's a real-time popularity indicator that's updated every hour. In effect, it serves as a "best sellers list" for Amazon's millions of products. While the ASR has no direct impact on a product's sales, Amazon uses it to determine which products should be included in its bestseller lists.
Products that appear on these lists get more exposure on the Amazon website, which could lead to more sales. Products with large jumps (up or down) in their sales ranks may be included in Amazon's lists; such a listing provides or listing promotersadditional exposure that could lead to an increase in sales.
